Affordable, Experienced Lawyer for Difficult Times
I am Doug Surprenant, an attorney who is committed to representing your best interests and making lemonade when life hands you lemons. I have practiced law in Holbrook, Massachusetts, since 2005, helping hundreds of individuals and families in Norfolk County, Plymouth County and other communities south of Boston.
I invite you to a free 30-minute consultation to discuss your legal, financial and personal concerns and explore possible solutions. Call me at 888-840-3516 or 781-767-7076 to arrange a time to meet.
Divorce and Family Law
- Uncontested amicable divorce — I help work out the details if you agree on the big issues, so that you can make your divorce official and go on with your lives.
- Contested divorce — I help clients negotiate sticky issues of division of assets, child custody and financial support, or fight for your interests in court when agreement is out of reach.
- Child support and visitation — I work for solutions to custody and child support on the front end, or represent you in later modification or enforcement proceedings
Bankruptcy and Mortgage Solutions
- Chapter 7 bankruptcy — You may qualify to eliminate all your unsecured debts and get a start fresh; keep your house and your car but get rid of the stress and headache from the bill collectors and never go to court.
- Chapter 13 bankruptcy — If you don't qualify for Chapter 7 or owe mortgage arrears or back taxes, Chapter 13 allows you to repay a portion of your debts over a 3, 4, or 5 year period.
- Mortgage relief solutions — Bankruptcy may be the answer and could eliminate your second mortgage, but we will look at all your options including loan modification or short sale before taking any action.
Employment Law
- Employment discrimination — If you were discriminated on the job because of your race, age, sex, national origin, sexual orientation or other protected status, I will pursue your full remedies under the law.
- Disability discrimination — I represent people who are denied reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act, or who experienced mistreatment because of their condition.
- Workplace harassment or termination — If you were the victim of sexual harassment, a hostile work environment or wrongful termination, I will file a claim to pursue monetary damages or fight to get your job back.
- Wage and hour claims — If you were not paid for overtime or breaks, or you were incorrectly classified as a supervisor or independent contractor then you may be entitled to back pay and triple damages.
